Faroe Seafood's products aimed at retail are neutral portions, un-breaded, breaded and prefried products and portions cut from blocks. For example fish fingers or standard 10 grams cubes or 4x100 grams portions, the most common packaging being 400 grams, 1 or 2 kg boxes.

These Products are produced according to our customers' requriements and specifications.

Production

Historically, groundfish has formed the
basis of Faroese fishery and fishing industry. Ins of Faroese fishery,
the production to a large extent consisted of saltfish and fillet
blocks produced from cod. In 1997 cod and saithe represented 25% and
13% respectively of Faroe Seafoodís total turnover. Today, cod and
saithe are produced into a wide range of value added products such as
frozen light salted portions, ready to cook boil in bag cod loins and
salmon portions.

Fresh Iced

Faroe Seafood is specialized in fresh fillets and portions for the European market.
The fresh products are produced mainly from cod, haddock, saithe, redfish and greenland halibut caught by modern trawlers and long liners in the northern part of the Atlantic Ocean enabling the Faroe Seafood to supply a wide range of top quality fresh fish. The fresh iced products are packed according to specification in 3, 5, 10 or 20 kg boxes and the production volume is approximately 1500 tons per year.

Salted Cod

United Seafood's salted products are made from cod caught in
the North Atlantic where the Gulf Stream meets the cold Arctic waters
creating the perfect enviroment for the cod.

Industry

Faroe Seafood's basic product is the fish block. The blocks are produced mainly from saithe haddock or cod caught in the North Atlantic waters. The production takes place on five of our seven plants and the volume is 8000 tons per year .

The blocks are packed in standard 16.5 lbs. The dimension of each and every block is checked to ensure that only blocks with correct dimensions are shipped.
